HackerMoms dedicates “Kid Sundays” to Hacker Sprouts kids workshops for young makers in training. Kids aged 2-6 years are given early exposure to science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM curriculum), as well as movement. The goal of Hacker Sprouts is to engage kids’ natural curiosity – and create fearless, free-thinking smartypants, questioners of authority, persuasive logicians, and poets of the scientific method.
A new program in 2013, Hacker Sprouts workshops intends to take an indie approach to education. Classes have so far been Toddler Tech (an art/science mashup) and African Dance, Drumming and Singing. New workshops planned are Legos Pre-engineering, digital music-making and puppet-mastering. Check the Calendar and sign up for our weekly email announcements on the home page for upcoming classes.
